Lahore – A major decision has been taken to modernize the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) by signing an agreement for purchase of Hytera body-worn cameras (bodycams) for Lahore Motorways Police, which will enable law enforcement agencies to improve Law and Order situation and keep an eye on criminals and law breakers in any crisis. Hytera is a global leading company providing professional mobile radios and this modernization will improve police performance even in the most difficult circumstances.
“To ensure the bodycams serve the police well in all kinds of working conditions, they must meet various standards,” said Ken Dai, general manager of Hytera’s Pakistan office. “They have to be able to survive extreme conditions including sudden drops, heavy rain and dust storms. In addition, they need to be capable of recording high-quality video even in the dark. We have carried out multiple tests with the police and the results have proved satisfactory.”
The police officers are also able to take advantage of the Hytera Smart IDS (Integrated Device Station) System and SmartEye System. The Smart IDS provides centralized management of multi-media evidence collected by the bodycams. It supports both centralized and distributed storage of the evidence, making it simple and easy to view, download, edit, and share. The SmartEye System is an intelligent management platform, which enables the main office to monitor and control the on-site bodycams in real time.
The bodycam model used in this project is one of Hytera’s top-of-the-range bodycams. It features a small, slim, lightweight and portable design suitable for use by frontline police officers. It supports 1080P video recording at 30fps and has a long-range night vision capability of up to 10m distance. The bodycam has an integrated remote speaker microphone to provide video dispatch and real-time video streaming over 3G/4G/Wi-Fi. This means it can also double as a PoC device, so the police can make push-to-talk (PTT) voice calls and initiate an emergency alarm in mission critical situations.
Hytera body cameras are versatile in both public and private sectors and offer an additional layer of security compared to fixed cameras. Municipal institutions, private security companies, media organizations, traffic control authorities and courts around the world use these devices for monitoring purposes easily and conveniently. These body cameras also add modern value to the operational side of trade by providing great monitoring solutions for manufacturing plants, retail stores, warehousing facilities, healthcare and educational institutions. Hytera is open to providing state-of-the-art security and monitoring capabilities through its cutting-edge devices for public and private sector organizations.
Today, organizations like Walmart use proprietary body cameras to monitor their in-home delivery team in at least three states across the country, where drivers have access to the homes of absentee owners to deliver perishable groceries. For more information, visit website www.hytera.com
