Al-Azhar, the world’s foremost Islamic institution, has condemned and opposed the derogatory statements made on Twitter by the spokesman of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member against the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) and his wife, Aisha (R.A).Al-Azhar issues official statements about this incident and declares this act blatant ignorance of history.

Al-Azhar described this approach as an explicit call to extremism, hatred, and sedition among followers of different religions and beliefs.
In its statement, Al-Azhar made it clear that, being a Muslim, everyone’s first duty is to stand together against people who insult religions and the highest human values for political gain.
