Car prices increase in Pakistan

Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has announced increase in car prices and it was not unexpected after the government introduced 2.5% Federal Excise Duty (FED) on vehicles up to 1300cc, which is a segment dominated by Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Wagon R, and the Suzuki Cultus.

The increase in the Suzuki Car Prices will be applicable from effectively immediately (19 January 2022) and all new bookings will take place at the new rates as mentioned by the company. It bears mentioning that other automotive manufacturers are also expected to announce the increase in their car prices as the Government has imposed increased taxes on vehicles across the board.

The Price of the Suzuki Alto VX in Pakistan has been increased by Rs. 32,000, bringing the new rate at Rs. 1,306,000 from the previous price of Rs. 1,274,000, while the Price of Suzuki Alto VXR has been increased to Rs. 1,546,000 after a hike of Rs. 38,000 from the previous rate of Rs. 1,508,000. Meanwhile, the Price of Suzuki Alto VXL in Pakistan is now Rs. 1,747,000 after an increase of Rs. 43,000 from the previous rate of Rs. 1,704,000.

The Price of the Suzuki Cultus VXR in Pakistan has been increased by Rs. 126,000, taking the new price to Rs. 2,030,000 from the previous rate of Rs. 1,904,000, while the Price of Suzuki Cultus VXL in Pakistan is now Rs. 2,244,000 after an increase of Rs. 139,000 from the previous rate of Rs. 2,105,000. Meanwhile, the Price of Suzuki Cultus AGS has been increased by Rs. 150,000 to the new rate of Rs. 2,422,000 from the previous price of Rs. 2,272,000.

The Price of Suzuki Wagon R VXR has been increased by Rs. 117,000 from the old rate of Rs. 1,760,000 to the new price of Rs. 1,877,000, while the Price of Suzuki Wagon R VXL has been increased by Rs. 123,000 to new price of Rs. 1,975,000 from the old rate of Rs. 1,852,000. Meanwhile, the Price of Suzuki Wagon R AGS is now Rs. 2,158,000, increased from previous rate of Rs. 2,024,000 by Rs. 134,000.
